We laid in each other's arms, thinking of nothing in particular -
yet it was everything to both of us.  
My hand on her hips,
her head on my shoulder;
she looked up at me and spoke,
"Who really knows the truth?"

Dreamily, I replied that I wasn't sure if there was a truth,
but maybe we'd reach something some day.

I told her that we'd find a way
Told her that we'd come upon the truth someday

If there is no truth,
Is there no love?
That's one of those things that I was thinking of.
In this I had answered her very question
And in this learned life's true lesson.

If truth is love,
then what is this?
Maybe we haven't a name for it, just call it bliss.
For I know that I love her, even in my youth.

For I know that I love her, and that is the truth

I told her that we'd find a way
Told her to hold on - We'd come upon it someday
Well, I had this as use for a song, but the song never finished - so here you are - a poem that I'm rather proud of actually
